hi ppl,

i just don;t understand de broglie's theory, do we need to know about his contribution i know its not in the syllabus but i have seen in some trial examz
also about lightning conductor,s breathlaysers and photocopeirs?

help plzz

It simply explained why there were only certain areas which an electron could orbit in. It explained why the energy shells were formed in teh first place - simply put, the electrons had to trace otu standing wave patterns around the nucleus or else they would not exist. Thus this means that energy shells are quantised (i.e., go up in discrete and integral (whole number) amounts)...
