Deakin tells the plusses of its trimester system. People should know its minuses as well.
The introduction of the Deakin trimester system led to many unhappy students. They set up an anti-trimester FB page that quicky attracted 1500+ people:

After much distress, Deakin commissioned PWC to review the trimester system:

It had mixed findings, - "AN independent review of Deakin University's trimester system has criticised its implementation and noted that so far it has benefited only a few students and staff while "adverse impacts" have been widely felt. "
Those that tried to use the tri system found highly limited tri 3 offerings.
Those that do not wish to use the tri system are also affected by its existence. They have been subject to very small swotvacs (3 days), and a very short, congested exam period with some exams scheduled in the evening.
