yep...u have to teach the class

talk abt the elective and how it realtes to ur text(s). find a commonality and hold that thru for ur argument or use as a punch line near the end of ur presentation.

i did mine jus a couple of weeks ago. i did mine using powerpoint.
i have posted my outline for my presentation. i jus talked abt each point and used quotes. also events from the text can be used as evidence, so it doesnt necessarily have to be quotes.

i did the bone people, but the main breakdown of a question can be seen.
Code:
The Complexity of Relationships in The Bone People: Kerewin and Simon

The Presentation

The Complexity of the Relationships in the text: Kerewin and Simon. Relevance to Retreat From The Global.
	Relationships
	Relationships in texts
	Kerewin and Simon as individuals
	Kerewin and Simon together

Relationships

	Important part of life.
	We thrive on human interactions.
Based on bonds on trust and feeling for on another.
	Relationships are complex and dynamic.

Relationships in texts

Texts rely heavily on emotions, feelings and thoughts. Can be used to convey many messages.
Keri Hulme uses relationships in The Bone People.
Relates to Keri Hulmes Maori heritage.

Kerewin

	Isolated and alienated by herself.
	Her family.
	Wary of relationships.
	Embraces the Global.

Simon

In a forced retreat since the boat accident.
	Time spent in the institution.
	His inability to speak.

Kerewin and Simon together

	Kerewin defends him.
	The fishing trip at Morangi.
	Simon learns from her.
	Simons personality changes.
	Kerewin is Simons retreat.

Questions

Was Simons forced retreat due to the accident positive or negative?
Why do Simon AND Kerewin retreat together from the world around them?
What would be a possible reason why Kerewin left her family?
Do you think Kerewin is/isnt Simons retreat?
the q's in the end were discussion questions to involve the class. this is a very important part of a seminar. other ways can be synectics, and other creative things.

hope this will help:)
