What are the limits to the combinations I can have if i wanna do a double degree? Can I do two specialised degrees, e.g. BSc(Adv Math) with BE (Aeronautical)? Ive noticed lots of ppl doing degree combos that arent listed anywhere, so what are the limits?

Can I even go as far as doing Law with Pharmacy or Opto or something?

yeah which uni are you referring to.

as for combined degrees, if they arn't listed in UAC, and you want to combine something like LAW with PHARMACY, you would have to get permission from the uni senate and the dean's of both faculties. but a combination of LAW and PHARMACY would be hectic and i don't think they will allow it!!

you'd have to be crazy, and very very smart at the same time, just imagine if it was run by uac what the entry mark would be

with BE (aeronautical)/BSci (adv maths), u just need to pick the "BE/BSci" option, then once u get in- choose these streams to get this degree combo...i'm think of doing either aeronautical or civil for my engineering stream, and majoring in (hopefully) advanced chemistry and physics. :)

Althugh they don't accept anyone. You have to get into MBBS, and then apply to do a LLB. A 7 years course, that has to be tough.
i know unsw has a arts/medicine/surgery combo.....7 yrs as well, but not as hectic as med/surg/LLB.....jeeessshhhhh

UAI: 101 :D
I know Macquarie is a bit flexible on this, they let you enrol in two seperate degrees/double degrees concurrently. :)

I think the University would have to pay me to do a combined degree like that..

it would be an interesting combination to do - if you are sued for malpractise, you can represent yourself (if you pick the right electives for law).

lol

so its all up to the uni at which combos are possible?

freaking out, i see from ur sig ur doing bsc/be at usyd, i was wanting to do BE(Aerospace) / BSc (Adv Math) at usyd, but the former is 99.3 and latter is 98.65 (from memory)... so what uai do i need? 99.3? or 99.9 or something?

and can someone explain to me what a stream is? like, whats the diff between an 80 uai BSc and a 98.65 BSc(Adv math)? they are both the same degree more or less...

to do bsc/be you would simply need to satisfy the UAI requirements for this degree. then you will choose later on which stream you would like to do. a stream is a pre-prepared degree structure that you follow to achieve a certain award. eg, engineering has many streams including electrical, civil, aerospace, aeronautical, etc.

the difference between the BSc and Bsc (adv math) is that the BSC (adv math) is a degree that requires you do to advanced math whereas the other doesn't. and you also get (adv math) printed on your trasncript and degree.
