USYD, Friday 16th April.

Anybody else going to be there? Or am I going to be on my lonesome (assuming I can convince a few people to let me out of a cadet trip for a day otherwise I won't be able to go on the cadet trip:chainsaw: )

Is that the same as what they had last year, where you go to those mini lectures? If so, it was quite boring, but maybe that's because I didn't get into the lectures of my choice...

You get a med degree. You need to go for another day if you want to specialise though.

hehe i went last year, i reckon it was kinda cool because we got to meet all these kickass people from other school (James ruse, Baulk) it kinda motivated me seeing them as like myself. Also i liked the initial uni 'feel' i obtained although the lectures weren't exactly what i wanted. And plus free lunch and you get a day off school, its worth it.

I think your school would have more info...maybe the careers advisor? The school does pick the students to go, but my school rang up, and they said they had empty spaces, so about 100 of us were allowed to go, so it's worth giving them a ring

From what i understand, the school picks the people who are doing more academically 'better' than others. I think its a ploy to encourage people to go Usyd for their uni studies. But i was fun. If you go to a good school, you school may have more places but i'm not too sure

We got picked on our english marks...but the teacher said that people that think they will get a UAI of 95 or above should apply...but everyone applied anyway...and with the extra 100 places, over half the grade got to go.
