Just wondering if Dell has the best support for laptops in the current market. I'm just curious as to which laptop manufacturer currently leads the way with customer support and quality.

Dell has a pretty good support thingy cos when my Dad's work laptop broke down, they had an IT dude coming down and fixing it the next day.

But my dad work paid a premium for the service. They paid $4000 for a laptop which is worth at the local computer corner for about $3000.

So if you pay more you get better service.

Well, Dell does provide a three year warranty isn't it? (not sure)

You get what you pay for I guess. I had the choice of 12 months or 9 months or something like that .. where you (obviously) pay more for the longer warranty.

As for the market leader .. I'd say Dell is pretty good since they did get back to my friend pretty quickly. My laptop was fixed in a day (toshiba - no cdrom and I couldn't format). Haven't had any experience with others :)

don't get the normal support mixed up with gold support

my old company worked with dell. it's only a good support cos they ship out computers with dodgy parts sometimes :p

and yes, i own a dell.

in my experience dell are terrible when something goes wrong. i have seen other people with similar complaints, but it is more on the business side rather than home side.
