I posted this thread in this section because I want to ask those currently doing their HSC if their det laptop blocks websites anymore or not. I have the green laptop and ever since I got it, I really wanted to remove that filter to stop it from blocking a ridiculous amount of websites.

And now, out of nowhere, I can access Facebook, youtube, just about anything. I have never had a TAFE account or anything. I am definitely sure that no one has logged into my laptop in the past week or so. When I used it in school today, it blocked some websites, but at home I can pretty much access porn ( didnt try, but I think so lol).

This is really wierd. Did they like remotely remove the filters recently? Or is it because someone might have (possibly) logged into internet explorer, although I am certain I logged in with my name after that?

Anyone experience the same thing?

Has someone hacked into my computer, or home WIFI? All these years, I wanted some kind of a magic trick to unblock everything, and now that my wish has come true I am freaking out. I really should be careful what I wish for.

I assume the filter is on the school's network (some sort of proxy set up), not on the laptop itself.

There is a local proxy as well which blocks everything at home. It's made by the company "BlueCoat"

When at school the filter comes through the network and when at home it's the local filter. That local filter CAN be disabled in order to gain unrestricted access whilst at home but they haven't disabled it. If you can access everything at home then the filter is messing up, in terms of what is going on at school, are you doing a VET course at TAFE? in which case your account has more access, or shit be tripping out.
