Hey i was wondering if there is anyone out there who didn't get the most brilliant school assess. mark, but then killed the HSC and still ended up with a good overall mark?
Cause my rank for english is not bad, but there are ppl ranked better who i dont think r gunna do very well in the HSC ie i will get their marks or wateva

Yes, not me but I know of situations where this has happened. The most dramatic being our dux got overthrown art the end by another fellow year 12 in terms of UAI.

I was kinda in that situation...my overall assessment marks ended up being not as high as I'd hoped (ranged from about 65 - 80) but then through studying my arse off in stuvac I ended up with some decent marks in the exam. For example, I got an overall assessment mark in business studies of 79 - not the best mark. However in the HSC exam I managed to get 94, which then dragged my assessment mark up to 85 to give an overall HSC mark of 90 for business studies. This happened with most of my other subjects as well.

I had an average rank for english (around middle of the bunch) and my assessment mark was around 68ish, but then I ended up with a HSC mark of 82 due to well not killing but doing better than expected in the HSC.

So just make use of your stuvac and study your arse off and you'll be rewarded!! (Well I was anyway!)

hey jenta, was your UAI greater than 95?

no it wasn't, but I still achieved a UAI higher than my target of 90 (92.3 to be exact) but with my assessment marks, I thought I would be getting around 85
