The University of Sydney is holding a day of lectures about Dier el Medina; a hugely important site that spanned the late 18th Dynasty to the late 20th Dynasty.

As a student discussing any of the pharaohs in Amenhotep III - Ramses II, the society B (NKE - Amenhotep III) or C (Ramesside period), you'd be expected to discuss this site.

I'm going to go to the day with a friend, so don't worry if you have noone to go with. Most importantly, it will be enjoyable and a good experience.

The person holding the lectures, Michael Birrell, is a great lecturer and a funny guy, so the day will be interesting.

It costs $120, and runs from 10AM til 4PM -- so there's going to be a lot of useful info.

here is the info on it. Like I said, I will be going with an Egyptology buddy of mine, so don't not come just because you don't know anyone going.

:)
