Differences between scaling and aligning (1 Viewer)

Sorry this might sound like a stupid question but are they the same thing? and what marks exactly do you put in the atar calculator when hsc results come out? Thanks

Scaling = ATAR.
Aligning = Band cutoffs.

For example, the raw mark cutoff for 4u maths has been around 65 every year. What that means, is that a raw mark of 65, would be a 90 HSC mark.
Now the bold part, replace it with "align to" and done. It just means what raw mark goes to what HSC MARK.
