Digital Cameras - Which one should i get? (1 Viewer)

im going to hk soon, and im planning to grab a digi cam , but i have no idea which one to get. Do u guys have any recommendations? i dont wanna spend to much , at most 450 AUS .., and since its cheaper at hk, 450 AUS should be enuff to get me aa good one , u guys reckon?


im looking for a cam with around 4-5 megapixels

usb support etc

zoom which is decent..(what i mean is zoom better than the canon ixus, sony cybershot)

and oh btw, which brand has the best reputation for digi cams? sony? canon? kodak, minolta etc etc?

$450 should be enough, since the current exchange rate is like $5.7...

i saw the Panasonic D-snap SV-AS10 in a mag today..looks pretty cool with a mp3 player and all..but just 2 mega pix?

I wouldn't go for those integrated mp3 players. In fact i hate products that try to throw everything in.

Better to go for seperate products, you get much better for your money.

yeh i agree..i'd rather get a separate mp3, the d-snap just looks good in the ad..argh the power of advertising


so majesty , is your fuji any good? cause all i hear ppl buying is canon, sony etc..not many fuji's ;P

oh btw, for example if i buy a fuji cam, can it support expansion cards from panasonic/sony? or do i hav eto buy fuji memory cards

The Fuji one i got is good, although it uses XD Memory which only Fuji and Olympus cameras use at the moment. But it should be the standard soon, replacing MMC and all that.

Sony is by far the worst with their shoddy memory stick garbage.

MMC = Multimedia Card
SD cards are different i think.
XD cards are even more different lol.

bleah~ i might as well add my 2 cents on digicams anyway

i bought mine overseas. for $700 with a case and a 128mb XD picture card. mines the olympus mju 400. it has 4mp. i think people should get a 4mp digital camera because they dont depreciate in price as fast as the 3.2 mp. though you dont even need the quality of a 4mp camera.
