Hey,

i got this question --> The orginal form of DNA is TCA CAG GCG AGT TCT CAT and the mutated form is TCA CAG CGCG AGT TCT CAT. Discuss the change that this type of mutation would have on the protein produced by the gene containing this base sequence.

I have no idea how to even start this question! is there anyone that could please help me?

I believe its called and insertion error and it means that every amino acid codon after the mutation will be wrong because there is a phase shift

or something along those lines

change in DNA=change in polypeptide/protein produced=altered gene=altered phyicality
this is because of the insertion mutation in which causes a phase shift creating all the bases to move to the right pairing up differently therefore diffrent amino acids are made and amino acids as you know are blocks to produce proteins and genes are made up of proteins and because proteins are changed the chemical activity and appearance of the organism changes
