Hey, the other day iwas thinking about how much teen's rely on technology ( this thought was triggered by the fact my mobile was stolen).every single day i will send a text, talk on the phone, msn and myspace.... I was wondering how this affects teens..do you think it makes people more anti-social? do you think people find it easier to pretend there someone there not online? do you think it helps people reach out and lessen's the chance of depression? COMMENT COMMENT COMMENT all your thoughts on the topic... Xx

You font really hurts my eyes, particularly the colour.

Anyway, no I don't think so. msn, emailing, the phone etc, are more often than not how I find out about certain parties, events etc.

if anything, it's made socialising a lot easier - to organise and distribute knowledge about one another and about certain events really quickly.

Also, I don't know where I would be without a mobile phone when I get lost getting there, or when one of us is late etc....

I rarely use the phone. I have msn but I talk only occasionally but when I do it can last hours. Take BOS away and I'd be bored and disconnected from society.

I rely a lot on technology, like my home phone, mobile, and the net. It's just so much easier to talk to people on msn, like you can talk to more than more person at a time.

I still meet up with friends on weekends and go out for special occasions etc. I don't think it makes people anti-social, well it depends, only to an extent. Technology can bring people closer? But I dislike how some people have an 'internet personality' and in person they're not talkative etc.

Internet personality= true true, i have a friend who never talks at sckool yet her myspace profile declares she likes to 'dance drunk on tabletops'. People can appear alot more confident over the internet...

I was also thinking about the websites that are created by anorexic people for anorexic people and how they are an eample of negitive influcence or peer pressure over the internet..like if you join one to feel like you belong, the reason you would belong is because you are also ano so it would most probley encourage you to stay ano to fit in... a theory

No one judges you on the internet you tell people what you want them to know and they only judge you on that. They cant see you or hear you and have to relie on the person is telling them.

I would be lost without my phone too ... especially with my parents not home during the day and im always going out at night ... i use to be on the computer every afternoon and didnt do anything social cept talk in chat rooms ... now i have a car, and someone to be with so im only on atleast 10 mins ... and my younger sister still complains im on the net too much and that im taking up her precious time on the net even though i wont be home for the next 3-4 hours.

So i have a social life now, better then what i did before, but without phones, the net - msn, myspace and everything else i reckon id go crazy!
