Do u think that it is possible to get into band 6 for tourism. As the exam is on Thursday, everyone is saying that i could get into band 6, what do u think???

Hey I'm doing tourism too, finally found someone else doing it . I'm not sure if you could get band 6, coz according to UAI seeker, basically any raw mark above 90 scales down to 89.6. I'm aiming for over 90, which hopefully will get band 6, watever the mark is =S I have no idea. I'm pretty sure over 90 would be band 6 though. What did you get in the trial?

UAI seeker shows you how UAC scales it. There is nothing to stop you getting a HSC mark over 90. However, UAC takes this mark and scales it down for the purposes of your UAI. But your HSC certificate document will say band 6.

For my trial i got 65%, without study, so i am looking to further improve that mark.

What did u get for ur trial?

oh ok well study heaps and u can prob get band 6. I dunno, I didn't study for the trial but I got 86%, so hopefully a little study will get me band 6

I wish u the best of luck and hope that u get into band 6. Our trial was set by the board of studies, and it wasn't that bad, i just didn't write one of my extended responses really well. But i learnt from that.

Oh ok, I think ours was just set by the TAFE people, coz half the questions were like pinched from past HSC papers. The extended responses are only 15 marks though, and there's only 2, so its not too bad.
