All I know about them right now is its definition. From the top of my head: an ion formed when a lewis base (anion or molecule) reacts with a cation, that has qualities quite distinct from its parent ions.

Do we need to know more? I asked my phys teacher [who so happens to know way more than chem teachers] and he says no. but the sheer content of complex ions in conq in the latter parts suggest that they will be tested... hmm

i onli know ammonuim tetrammine...which is an 'electric blue' complex ion...

however i dont think you should worry yourself too much with these types of ions...only those which are relevant to the syllabus...

i've never leant abt complex ions before so i guess it wont be tested [and my teacher goes thru the syllabus from dot point to dot point]

u might mention it in the cation/anion tests....(doubtful)

i think it may also b in the chemistry of the art elective

It's in chem of art, I did a lot of work on those last year. I don't think they really come up anywhere else. Contexts has a great Chem of Art chapter :)

Yeh you probably only need to know them with some of the cation/anion tests as someone has already stated. I don't think you even need a definition though (although I don't do chem of art).
