Ever since Christmas last year, I have had really weird dizzy spells. Its not really dizzy, as in spinning, its more like my head is spinning just 180 just randomly, at night time. I went to an ENT about it, its not an ear thing.

I went to see my neurologist today to find out why im getting the kinda dizzy spells. She said that I'm a very complicated case and says its nothing like a brain tumor which is good. While i was explaining everything, she was looking at me ntaturally and then interrupts me and asks if i know that my eyes shake, and im like yes everyone asks me that
.

She said that was rather interesting, and said that the nystagmus may be contributing to the 'dizzy' spells. She said she had one patient who had nystagmus that got worse over the years and he started to get dizy spells. She said that since ive had it since i was born or whatever, my brain has learnt to compensate for it, but my eyes might be now deteriorating and the brain doesnt always compensate for it.

Um so Ive still got to go and get a MRI scan, which I was expecting to get one, and I got to go and see a neuro-opthamologist...when she asked if i heard of one i was like ahhh no! lol. Thing is, my opthamologists (yes ive got 2 lol-the one I first saw, and the actual surgeon who is monitoring me) said that the dizzy spells havent prob got anything to do with my eyes, especally the retinal detachment....So its all rather interesting.

Ive never had a MRI done before and naturally I dont know if Im going to feel claustophobic or not. THe reeceptionist was like well you can see how you go and then press the emergency button if you feel strange, and they come and get me out, and then i can see how i feel, either continue with it, or go back later and get sedated, which would require more time coz id have to wati till the sedation naturally wears off. Id rather just get it over and done with though.

I know medicare pays most of the costs and stuff, but gee i hope that I have reached that Medicare gap thing where you reach a limit and then you dont need to pay for anything after that, or its really cheap or something. And the most annoying thing about seeing all these bloody dam specialists, is the cost and time used in going to see them. Im already prob going to have to take a day off prac when I go and see the opthamologist coz my pupils will be so big and everything blury and stuff. And now I will be late for one of the days coz of the MRI....its not good for this to all happen now right when Im at the end of my degree and prac just abou to start.

oh well initially the GP sent me to a ENT who said I have no inner ear blockages.

woo i love having a health care card, coz it means that I wont have to pay a cent for my MRI scan, normally about $500-600, get back about $250 from Medicare.

I find if I don't eat enough food for a day I get dizzy spells when stand up, but thats normal. My eyes don't shake or anything. I reckon it would look pretty cool to see your eyes shake
