Do you need references for fast food jobs? (1 Viewer)

Basically i've been applying to fast food places (KFC, McDonald's etc) and I don't really have any good references besides a couple of neighbours who I have done a few paid jobs for (ie feeding animals, collecting mail etc). On the application forms for these places there isn't a place for references, so does that mean I don't need them?

Yes, it means you don't need references because they assume that you've never had a job before.

Even if it is there. Thy won't check as it is a fast food job (in my experience)

That being said, it doesn't hurt to include character references or even teachers/etc. Unlikely they'd ever get called but it doesn't hurt. I've been called for character references before for retail jobs.
