It's useless to spend all that money on defense when there's not even gonna be a war... it's fken 20th century, one nuclear bomb can wipe out an entire country, what's the point =..=

It is worth cutting the defence budget if the money is going to go to worthwhile causes, like hospitals and road infrastructure.
Our allies spend more than enough on defence to cover our arses if need be.

Yeah because every time we got into a war nukes were used right? just like all those times in korea, vietnam, iraq and afghanistan. Not to mention that we've been fighting non-conventional wars for the past 13 years. I guess you just didn't know we've been fighting a war every single decade bar the 80s and 90s.

Not to mention the use of the navy as border protection.

Defence budget has been slashed to shit, don't know what you lot are whinging about. 25 billion a year 1.5% of our GDP, jeez were really breaking the bank here.

Spanky: our allies are spending way more than we are. we just need to play catch up to match our interoperability when shit hits the fan.
