Introduction
Greetings everyone,
My name is Dr Q but you can call me Q. I’m a registered and practicing dentist who has a passion for the sciences.
I’ve been asked privately to tutor students and found the experience most enjoyable therefore I’ve now decided to offer my services publically.
About Me
I’m caring and I love working with people. I am really enthusiastic about working together with someone towards their goals. This has served me well as a dentist and as a tutor.
In terms of my academic background, I did my HSC a while ago. I went straight into undergraduate dentistry and graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery. I did HSC Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. During dental school, I went through a basic level Physics course which was basically year 12 Physics at faster pace. This was most likely for the benefit of those in my cohort who did not do Physics in year 12. Biology and Chemistry was core to my undergraduate learning which started basic and became more specialised as the years progressed.
My Tutoring Style
My aim is to create a supportive learning environment. I will do this through a mixture of old fashion didactic teaching and self-directed learning.
I will tailor the experience to the individual student and their needs. Whether you’re trying to catch-up or get ahead, I will cater to your needs.
I am familiar with the syllabus of each subject and will use them as a basis for my lessons while expanding further concepts as appropriate.
Ideally, I would like to bring my students from the start of year 11 to the end of year 12 so that there is some consistency in their learning.
I am a perfectionist (apparently all dentists are) and as such I am obsessed with doing the best I can. What that means is that I am very passionate about achieving results with my students. Seeing improvement in my students is what brings me most joy.
Summary
I’m a qualified dentist offering tutoring in Preliminary and HSC Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
Ideally, you would be in year 10 at present and I would give you a head start on year 11, bringing you all the way to the HSC in two years’ time.
I will take on students that are HSC class of 2015 and best adapt my lesson plans to your current situation.

- I prefer small groups so I can monitor students and tailor to their needs.
- I have a venue in the North Shore for group lessons.
- I can travel to your place if you can organise a group together.
Individual:
- I offer one-on-one tutoring for a slightly higher rate than group lessons.
- I can travel anywhere in the Northern Beaches and North Shore.
- For other locations, it will depend on specific circumstances so please contact me for details.
