Does anyone have any idea when the iPod Generation 5 will be released? (1 Viewer)

I have done a search on the Internet but nobody seems to know when the Generation 5 iPod's will be released. So I am just wondering if maybe someone who follows Apple closely might be able to make an estimate? Thanks.

All I have heard is that it might have a larger capacity (40 GB and 80 GB) and might be silver.

ok ok , i had an argument at another post that a big harddrive eg 200 gig is way more thne u nee, and lost that arguemnt cuase peopel store movies and stuff on them.

but why do u need a 80 gig ipod. It can only store music ? i have around 7 gigs of music on my computer and thats a lot of music i cannot amagine why u would need 80 gigs.,

Well at the moment I would only need the 40 GB version but your music collection is always growing and it is always good to have some extra space in-case you need it for something.

If I ripped all my CDs and added them ontop of my existing collection I would have way more than 80GB of music.

That said, the fourth gen just came out recently so Apple isnt going to make any announcements about the superceeding model for a while.

Some people may also want to listen to lossless audio which would really eat up the hard-drive space.

Well the Generation 4 iPod was released in August 2004 which was almost six months ago now.
