The dot point is:

* assessing the efficiency and the effectiveness of various forms of legal measures in achieving justice through a current criminal justice issue.

What does this mean?
There is a question in the 2001 HSC which is:

(d) Using the example of John and Sue, OR another example, explain how the law addresses issues concerning the rights of victims, the accused and the community in relation to crime.

Is that where the syllabus point comes in? If not, what does a student write for that? Not in particular relation to that exact question, but to those types of questions?

Sorry for being a pain. :p

Many people do a take-home assessment at school for this question, such as myself. The topics ranged at our school ranged from the amendments to the Bail Act to the sentences given to the Skaf case.

I saw this HSC 2001 question and wondered the same thing as you. The 2001 Examiner's Report indicates that yes, it would be a good idea to use your case study here, as long as you can apply it to the whole question. The weaker responses relied on John and Sue, when it was difficult to apply their case to the question. I would say the best way to do it would be integrate John and Sue and your own case study together, if possible, to best demonstrate your knowledge.

The question doesn't necessarily ask you to do this, but according to the Senior Marker at my school, they often expect you to go beyond what is asked in Part D. It is the question where the majority of candidates lose the greatest number of marks.

Ohhhhhh I think I get it. I did a case on a Gonzales person, I am trying to remember, and the assignment detailed the processes of the whole case, is this where I would try to use this?

I did for Studies of Religion last night, I am planning on doing it for Legal Studies tonight, once I go through the entire course, rather than constantly ringing up.

This is a fairly straighforward question that I did at some stage during the year. Essentially it is just assessing the effectiveness of the law with regards to the rights of the individual and society. All you need is your LCMDs that relate to the areas in question, and then simply evaluate them. Reference to the scenario and selected cases would make the response much better.
