Hi
I have heard rumours that in NSW (Australia) you are able to pass the driving test in an automatic and then when you reach your P2 license you are able to just switch to manual even though you didnt pass your test in it and you may have no idea how to operate one.

This seems like a bizarre rule to me, but is it true? Does anyone know?

Thanks

u'd be an idiot to drive one unless u knew how regardless.
lol.

yeah it is true. because you could have learnt on your p's [it's just like being on your l's - you have to have a fully licensed driver with you] and there's no further tests that you have to do in a car, so they just give you a plain p2 licence, not a specific auto or manual.
