i don't think they give you typed notes...
but i've heard that the way the lecturer operates is that there are notes on the overhead which he/she just reads off and you just copy them... its the 1pm lecture in X5B i think.. its not the 1pm MACTH lecture...

i'm in the other 1pm lecture (not the macth) and according to her... they'll post up the notes the week before the final exams. but if u want notes, u should go to the lady's lecture coz she gives overhead notes. unlike the guy in macth, i heard he just basically talks alot. ciao!

uh allan is a pretty good lecturer... (macth 1pm)
he explains it in a way you can understand it....

i haven't been to the other 1pm one but i'm assuming all she does is read off the slides?

yeh i go to the 'other' 1pm lecture as well, i stopped going to McHarg's ones after 2wks, simply bcos i wasnt taking enough (if ne) notes.

the lady's lecture basically involves non-stop copying down notes off overheads for 50mins, while in the MacTh it was just a draw few models here & there :p

Each to their own i guess....

Vicki, (The other econ111 lecturer) i think is not that good.
She's my workshop tutor, and every-time we discuss a recent topic,
e.g, Oppurtunity cost, or Comparative advantage, or elasticity, or Substitution etc, she simply follows up, "Whoever is in my lecture, dont worry, we havent covered that yet" - she said that half a dozen times last week.

I was like, what on earth do they do in that other stream. :p

yeah i gotta agree with foragoodcause...
mcharg is pretty good... the 3pm guy is ok as well, macri... he's got power point slides with key information that you just copy down...

the textbook mcharg gets all his examples from is from another textbook by gans, king and mankiw... but the textbooks are pretty much the same...

My friend told me to attend Allan Mcharg's lecture in the following weeks before the mid-semester break. because the assignment sheets will be handout soon and allan always tend to give brief answers or directions in answering those questions in the assignment.... the other lady Vicki does provide some assistance but its not as good as allan without her overheads LOL.... i doubt she has overheads on those answers! hehehehe

the key to econ111 is taking good notes from mcharg, and doing nothing else besides maybe the tute questions.
