Umm...
Well i'm transfering over into eco cuz i dun like communications. However I'm more interested in policy and theoretical understanding of economics than stuff like banking, accounting etc.

I'd also just be interested in what the work loads like? For example what sort of assignments etc?

My first semester courses for economics are Australia and the Global Economy and Microeconomics. I've found that those who did economics reasonably well in the HSC will find it fairly easy, those who didn't at times were a bit lost.

AGE is all essay writing, with one presentation. Workload is not that intense, presentation is pretty easy, essay is medicore. In the mid term exam, they gave out 3 possible questions so you can prepare, on the day, they randomly picked the questions. The final test will probably be a killer, 4 questions based on the last 7 weeks of work.

Microeconomics basically goes into greater depth of economic theory. Extends on what you've learnt in the HSC. 3x quizes, which can be very tricky, 1 presentation and a final exam which is mostly multiple choice and short answers. Due to the lack of funding, there is only one tutorial per fortnight, but you can usually get help from weekly workshops as well.

2nd semster contains one elective and macroeconomics. I have no clue.

You could also do applied finance/economics if your into banking/accounting.

Microeconomics may not be that bad, but AGE will. It deals a lot work the workings of balance of payments, macroeconomic and protectionists policies and the effects of these.

Maybe it'd be a good idea to read through an Excel Guide on HSC Economics before I start?
Or any books u reckon could help?

I have (out of personal interest) read up a bit on each of those things you mentioned there, like I could BASICALLY explain them?

Technically, you don't have to know economics in the HSC, but its recommended that you do. So I guess those readings my help.

i believe the economics will be more theoretical than the economics/finance majors which are what you call the practical side of banking etc...
