What does the process of transformation involve?

my e.g.

the process of transformation involves taking values and attitudes from the early text, and making them relevant to the context of the new text. in essence what the 2nd text says is the same as the first, but is more relevant for the time. therefore, transformation is an excuse for using someone elses ideas.
