Error downloading codec (1 Viewer)

i have window media player 10 and i downloaded window codecs 9 which says it works for both wm9 & wm10 but i still cant seem to play these movies particularly .avi files. has anyone got any suggestion on what program i should download to avoid the error downloading codec problem. thanks

Download divx and see how you go.

Maybe it is because some of your settings in WMP where you can select whether to "download codecs automatically"
