I've got an essay/extended response on globalisation.

the question is:

explain how globalisation has had an impact on an economy other then Australia. Discuss and evaluate the strategies implemented by the government to encourage the economy to benefit from globalisation.

thats the easy part. the more difficult part is that im doing singapore as my chosen economy and went and got a heap of books fro the library today.

its an inclass essay but we've been given the question so we can revise and go into the essay with the info fresh on our minds, so any notes or anything would be great.

singapore is ok, you should do ireland, india, china or something like this much better countries because they've got clear strategies. in terms of singapore you'd have to talk about general things like funding R&D, making outstanding infustructure so that firms and people want to use singapore as a hub in the region, attracting business and investment. also see my post on the thread above this, thats got some info on india, if you care to change, might be to late for that now.

if you are not confident with a foreign economy I suggest you stick with Australia. The case study is an optional component of the economics course, and as such this question will always accompany a different essay question abotu the Australian economy. I believe this formed part of a HSC long response question.
