I usually write essays a minimum of 5 times under exam conditions for 2 purposes: to memorise it, so i dont have to think of what to write in an exam since everything will be in my head and i can rearrange everything to suit the question...and to give me a rough indicator of how much I can get down in about 40 mins
try that and see if it works (if u have the time)
