Can you explain why the executive has too much power if you think they have??

Executive consists of people like the Prime Minister of Australia, John Howard who dominates the Lower and Upper House, Ministers, police and so on...

Hello ;)

Byakuya, thanks for replying my topic. Well, I think the executive body has too much power. Why? I think becus they can decide on government policies. From my personal point of view, if you can decide on government policies, that means you can control the country or the parliament, as well.

Also, the executive body can formulate policies to favor themselves. This means that they can abuse their power in order to get what they want.

I hope that helps!

ATM Yes, govt has control of the HoR and Senate - no opposition to their policies, dont NEED to run committees (Ie Senate committees), rah rahj rah

PS - R u sure the executive isnt the Queen/Gov General? The prime minister etc (parliament) comes under the statutory wing of the Sep of the Powers doesnt it?
