Address the strategic roles of marketing and finance, and how for these roles to be performed goods/services must be taken into account. Without g/s, marketing and finance cannot perform roles and achieve their goals.

E.g, strategic role of operations is to achieve cost leadership/product differentiation which is done by delivering goods and services efficiently.
Strategic role of marketing is to generate sales by creating a marketing plan, which involves the design of goods/services and creating awareness for it.
(You could also vaguely mention the interdependence between the two key business functions).
