Do extension courses count as a subject?

Say for instance, I want to do Ext. 2 English and Ext. 2 Maths..
would ext. 1 count as a subject and ext. 2 count as another?

thank you

No.

The term courses and subjects are usually used interchangeably. But the extension courses do not count as another separate course (doing math extension 1 and math extension 2 counts as 2 separate courses but only 1 subject).

Off wikipedia:
Extension courses, each with a value of one unit, may be included in the study program, meaning that a certain subject area may have up to four units.
For your HSC you'd get a separate mark for each course as each has its own separate syllabus but they're not separate subjects :)

Err no they don't. They count as separate course not subjects. I.e. you can't do 4U English 4U Maths and Chem. You'd need a SOR or a Phys or anything else.

ive been under the impression that you could do both 4U's and one other subject, where EE2 counts as a subject, thereby giving you the required 4 subjects for the hsc

OP: ask a co ordinator at school or something. unless someone on the forum actually did a 4U + 4U + other subject combo for thier hsc, its just a bunch of people guessing.

nope u cant do 4u maths 4u english and another 2unit subject for the HSC and its not guessing. it specifically says u have to do more than THREE subjects.
so u cant do 4unit maths 3unit english and 3unit greek for example as well
