"in this task you will transform a text from a specific context (e.g. nineteenth century victorian england) to a different context (e.g 1950's american society). you must show evidence of research into both contexts.

1,000 words - short story or critical response
1,250 words - speech or script"

I am at a loss for ideas. help!
I would prefer to do the short story/critical response option

wait do you have supplied texts? like are you meant to use texts studied in class, or just choose two on your own accord?

if ur running out on a limb seek aid from other transformations i.e. Emma - Clueless, The Taming Of The Shrew - Ten Things I Hate About You. Also note the technological progress of the selected context and write a short story based on a novel of the 1900's perhaps. Crime fiction would be good in a short story.

use any at all. it can be absolutely anything .. I just have to change the time period it is set in, but use the same ideas from the original text.

what I really need is some examples of texts that I could use .. just to get me started. I just need that push off and then I'll be fine!

try and use something reasonably well known e.g. hamlet, pygmalion etc. cause there will already be alot of notes etc available about them discussing themes and motifs.
p.s. this is espo from echild.

the texts my class studied for transformation were:
jane austen - 'pride and prejudice' and the film 'bridget jones's diary'
i thought they were pretty good. and theres already heaps of notes on these two texts.
