im doing my major project on the controversial reconstruction of the palace of knossos.
just wondering, in what format are you meant to write the essay. Is it meant to be an impartial unbiased essay weighing up the arguments for and against. Or are you meant to write subjectively concentrating on one side?
thanks

you should present all the arguments. Of course, not all will have equal representation but that is the essence of the project. Which is more convincing? what evidence backs it up? why? you're allowed to have an opinion but it shouldnt overshadow the essay.

Wow, that's cool, good idea :)
As a question about the restoration, it's a common topic, but since you're talking about something pretty specific and not overly pop-history, it'll be a good question:)

In that kinda quesiton, I would take a side. You do this by a balance between for and against ideas, but you want to counter the other oppinion's claims with your own arguments.

oops, I forgot to add:

Don't write as if the other side has no validity, make sure you express both sides clearly and then say which one has MORE validity and why. THat's a pretty over-simplified explanation, but I think it's correct.

That's ok. If you ever need anymore help, you can PM me, msn me, or email me. I've done a bit on the K.Palace restoration, so I do know my stuff about it as well as general understanding of the ext. course.
