Ummmm if u get under 50% in a prelim exam do you fail it and am i not able to do the course for hsc...? No awards but ive got 1 warning and ive done most of my assignment safter but failed prelim hard.... would i be able to do the subjects for the hsc..?

You dont get an N-award for failing to get above 50% - it's more for non-attempts or really severe non-serious attempts.

So even though i get under 50% in the course if ive made a serious attempt at it can i continue the course for hsc..? I thought one of the prelim requirements was to get over 50%...

Pretty much - from memory, they rarely give out N Awards.
