Hey guys,
I messed up my ATAR last year and barely got into Usyd. I am currently doing B. Resource Economics (ATAR: 82) here but I am unhappy about the course structure (not what I'm really interested in) and really want to transfer to B. Economics (ATAR: 91) instead.
This year I tried hard and achieved the following: D (77), D (75), C (71), C (67), C (67), C (67), C (66) and P(61). I did the compulsory components of the B. Econ course (ECON1001, ECON1002, ECMT1010, ECMT1020) and got credit for all. Because my marks > 65 for micro/macro, I even got into the 3 year long honor course for economics.
Despite all this however, I am still really scared about transferring because of my low HSC mark. It was in the mid to lower 80s and I heard you must have a distinction average to be successful in transferring? On the other hand, I don't know man. I am already at the university, have done most of its courses to a decent level and even got into honors.
What are my chances? Is a distinction average a must?
Thanks.
