I have recently qualified to teach high school English and Indonesian (after a long career in another field) and am available to do a limited amount of tutoring in the St George area of Sydney or in the city.
I tutored HSC Standard and Advanced English in 2007 and also have lots of prior experience teaching and tutoring in Indonesian. In the past, I have been able to help students achieve quite significant improvement in their marks.
I can also help with general writing and study skills and career mentoring.
I am more interested in tutoring students who are genuinely havng difficulties and are prepared to take my suggestions on board. I tend to be fairly selective about who I agree to tutor as I only have limited spare time.
On the flip side of this, I am prepared to be fairly negotiable with my rates and would also consider some kind of exchange arrangement, eg, tutoring in exchange for cooking or babysitting (I have two primary school aged kids). I am also happy to tutor pairs or groups of friends.
