question

i recently had windows98 SE reinstalled on my computer, and now i'm only able to play my music files when i open them through winamp - if i want to open them straight up from their file windows doest not recognise the .wav and .mp3 formats

how do i fix this

You need to reassociate those files with Windows Media Player. Open any folder, then go Tools -> Folder Options -> File Types, look for wave files in the and associate it with Media Player.

Please appropriately title your threads in future :)

ahhhhhh im not quite following there. i think i got into folder options, but i dont know about associating the files with winamp, how do you do that?

i'm not sure it works that way in 98SE...

the easiest way is to go to options in winamp and there is a link that shows a list of file types. just select the ones that you want associated with winamp.
