Hi, im enrolling in my Finance Major for a Ba Business at UTS.
In the course overview of Business, it suggested study plan showed that you should do the Core Subjects in 1st year, then 2nd year complete your major, 3rd year do your 2nd major.

When enrolling in the Finance major, the way the Requisite subjects are organised it is impossible to do the major in less then 2 years.

Here are the subjects:

25555 Macroeconomics: Theory and Applications
25556 The Financial System
25503 Investment Analysis
25620 Derivative Securities
25557 Corporate Finance: Theory and Practice
25622 Quantitative Business Analysis
25410 Corporate Financial Analysis 6cp
25558 Issues in Corporate Finance 6cp
Total 48cp

I can do Macro, Financial System and Quantitve Business in 1st semester. But in the 2nd Semester i can only Study Investment Analysis.
Investment Analysis requires Quantitive as a requisite.
The remaining subjects Derivitate Securites, Corporate Finance require Investment Analysis.
Then Issues in Corporate Finance requires Corporate Finance Analysis as a requistite.

Why is this major structured to take 2 years?
This means i will have to mix and match and do my accounting and finance majors in tandem.
Has anyone else had this kind of trouble in the past? And is if my Accounting Major has the same kind of clashes, will this mean ill have to stay at uni for an extra semester?

Thanks. Also anyone who has done the finance major in the past, did this happen to you?
