Had trouble with these two problems:

A liquid used in the production of perfumes, flavouring agents, emulsifying agents and disinfectants contains only carbon, hydrogen and oxygen. When it is completely oxidised in air, a 1.50g sample produces 3.00g of carbon dioxide and 1.227g of water vapour. A separate 3.00g sample, when vaporised in a 1.00L vessel at 100C, produced a pressure of 1.05 * 10^5 Pa. Determine the empirical and molecular formulae of this compound.

3.7g of a compound of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen is burned in an excess of oxygen. The complete reaction of the compound produces 4.5g of water and 6.48dm^3 of gaseous substances (measured at S.T.P.). These gaseous substances are passed through a sodium hydroxide solution, leaving 2.0dm^3 of oxygen unreacted. Deduce the empirical formula of the compound.
