in america the demand for economists is apparently low at the moment.
But the demand is still thriving in Europe...and i dont think its too different here. The economy is everywhere....thus we need economists...so yeh..in answering your question- i dont think its hard..but it depends on how good you really are.

a B Ec doesn't guarantee u to be an economist (unless you have a single major os just economics then ur doomed...!jk)... it usually gets u into managerial positions and something else that i forgot. the degree is really useful because the world is an economy, and wel... u can make sense of that. You'd most likely work in a bank, some corp, and government departments.

apparently to be an economist, you should do some further study such as honours or masters as it's a highly competitive market, with (relatively) low demand.

Ah, this thread may be useful, but there is a slight gap between October 2003 and January 2005...

yea well the guide that i used was about 3 years ago... but i saw some jobs as an economist on seek.com.au so the market is more flexible now i'd say. coz this time of the yr is harder to find a job as there are less job ads and also, the economy is going so well. but the positions i did find, wouldnt suit a graduate coz they all required 4 yrs experience or so. thats why doing honours would be such a great advantage (was about to type adventure?!)
