Does anyone know whether it is possible to combine more specialist science degree from UNSW (such as health science, medical science) with art, commerce, engineering or law?
I know you can combine these degree with generic science degrees, but am not sure about these specialist degrees.
Also, is the transfer between generic and specialist science degrees quite easy (for example from medical science to just science (Advanced) with similar major) and vice versa) after the first year, or are there heaps of barriers like higher UAI, assumed knowledge or good grade in first year?
For the responders information, I got around 95 for UAI and believe I can get credit/distinction average for uni study.

For the specialist degrees, there are generally no ways to combine them with other degrees.

Transfer from one science course to another is dealt with through UAC, and can be done at half year intervals (UAC deals with a transfer period halfway through the year as well as the end-of-year period where HSC students apply). Transfer is generally based 50% on UAI, and 50% on the grades you achieve in first year.

Depending on when you transfer and what you transfer to, you may have to do other first year courses which you didn't require before. E.g. if you transfer from Sci (Adv) to Med Sci, you will need to do a special BSSM subject which is required for all 1st year Med Sci students, so this may set back your other subjects a little while you catch up.
