hey- for those in the small silent minority that are interested, the WFC2005 has been played (except the finals) and Australia has finished a very respectable 5th in B division, going down in tight games to the USA and former A division team Germany. in each match team Australia proved to be a stronger side than anticipated, and came very close to humiliating Germany in their first WFC encounter. earlier Australia beat Netherlands in a tight and very tough match, 7-6.
in A division news, the Czech team beat Japan, who will now be relegated to B division for the WFC2007 (to be held in Denmark we think).
the A division final will be played between Switzerland and Finland (Suomi!! Suomi!!)- with Sweden having been beaten in the semis yesterday by an explosive Finland.
