Like lots of you, I'm thinking about doing combined law, so I was wondering if everyone doing or thinking about doing a law course could put why they're doing it. Eg. What kind of area of law like commercial or criminal do you want to get into, and can you describe what that area of law entails ?
Thanks everyone...
I'm doing B Commerce/ LLB...
I did it because I like it...I've always liked the study of law so it was appropriate that I chose the course. I've done two introductory law subjects last semester and finally doing something substantive this session..Contract law. From my short experience, law is quite difficult, it involves a lot of theory and being able to apply that rule of law to real life issues. Contracts is especially hard because it is fairly content driven and at times confusing...(bhey, i'm only in my first year..
)
You do a large variety of different types of law at uni...from torts, contracts, criminal, public/private law..I think the decision of which law to specialise in comes at a later date. In your 4th year, you will be able to choose a few electives. These might invlove topics such as media law, international ..etc...
If I do get to specialise in something Id like to do criminal because its actually exciting. Everything else looks boring...
*Forsees the possibility of Lexi moving this thread to the law section*
