I'm a tad confused...

When they ask me if I'm studying or have any school commitments, what do I say?

"I don't know if I'll make it to uni, so lets say 'no' for the time being?" sounds a bit excessive and stupid to me...

I'll have four months of nothing-ness, and I'll probably keep working there etc during uni, if i get in,

so do I say "yes" or "no"?

Sorry if it's a stupid question, I've never worked a day in my life!
(except for my mum's resturaunt)

I'd probably just say you're doing uni next year...so if you don't get in, it doesn't matter, whereas if you don't say anything about uni and then u do get in, you might have a problem.

Just tell them you aren't sure what you are doing yet.... you only have to give employers a couple of weeks notice of changes to your availabilities.... not four months notice! Just tell them what you told us. That you may or may not go to uni, and even if you go to uni you would like to continue working for them.... It's not that big a deal....

don't mention that you won't get in!!
Just say, I haven't really decided because commerce will help with blah blah blah but the International studies degree will help me to explore blah blah... something like that
