Oh im a poor unfortunate soul!. Help needed :D danke
(btw its question 10 multiple choice of the success book page 70 for Ideas to Implemation)

10) A high frequency source is attached to an antenna which produces radio waves into the air around it. At a particular instant, the potential difference between the ends of the antenna, X and Y , is a max as shown

(postive) (negative)
X---------------------------------Y

O

O is the high frequency antennae(meant to be in the middle of X and y)

The polarity of the AC source of the ends X and Y reverse every 0.010 ms Whats the wavelength of the radio waves???

Please give a detailed explaination because even though i read the answers at the back i still dont understand!!!

Since the polarity reverses every 0.01 seconds, the period of the waves are 0.02 seconds, as one wavelength comes about by the spark going up and back.
Then, using f=1/T,
f=50Hz

Then, using c=f*lamda (since radio waves travel at the speed of light)
3*10^8=lamda*50
wavelength=6.00*10^6m
