Hi guys. I got really frizzy hair that if wet goes fairly curly at the right length, but dried it boofs up. i use fairly strong shwartzcopf(sp?) chaos/spike gel too get a fauxhawk (beckham style), the problem being my hair looks like it was manufactured.

I see people still manage to have a decent fauxhawk and the hair doesnt have that plastic look too it, what gel is used normally?

Is there any treatment too make my hair just non-frizzy, I don't care if its straight or curly but my hair is a total mess.

you probably should go to a proper hairdresser and get them to cut it in a way that takes the weight out of it and stops it "puffing" so much. if you can afford it, see lauren at toni+guy bondi junction...she is the best.

this "fauxhawk" you speak of... are you particularly attached to it? because it most probably isnt the style for you if it is so hard to achieve and maintain.

post pics if you like and i'll suggest some other styles to try.

My hair is similar, but more curly than frizzy.

I used to let it Afro but I just get it cut short now.

My sister said I should try deep conditioner once a week, and daily conditioner, then leave in conditioner daily. Do most people have to do this sort of thing? I used too just shampoo my hair once every 3-4 days and thats it.

well, I have the same kinda problem.. I use Garnier (spelling??) I use their Smoothing Milk, which comes in like a hand cream dispenser.. it makes ur hair really nice n soft n stops the frizzyness and yeah I am in love with it. You can put it in wet or dry..

I put it on when my hair is wet when i want my hair to stay curly and put it in when my hair is dry after I've used a straitener cause it makes my hair nice.. yeah

if you have curly/frizzy hair and you want the fauxhawk, you're going to have to use anti-frizz product and straighten/blowdry it into shape.

I dont think curls and the fauxhawk are really compatible

Awesome advice, thanks guys. My hair does curl after a certain length, most of it does manage too stay straight but like parts of the fauxhawk curl.

If I leave anti-frizz or leave in conditioner in my hair PLUS gel, isn't that a bad combination?

Awesome, I didn't realise hair goes dry after you put this leave conditioner in I thought it leaves it in a "wet look" state. I'll try that Pantene/Schwarzkopf (how the fuck do you remember how too spell it?!) and buy some at Hurstville today.
I guess I am not accustomed too leaving my hair dry then gel because I always *have* to wet my hair before gelling it or else i'll need a lot.

Do I have too keep putting in this leave in conditioner all the time, or does it eventually go away?

I bought Schwarzkopf leave in conditioner and i found out the gel i use is Schwarzkopf TAFT Chaos/Spike. Anyways, the leave in conditioner didny make my hair less boofy, my webcam is half working so here's an illustration of my hair boofy.

Kinda frizzy too, perhaps I have my names mixed up I'm not sure. Any Idea guys?

its just curlyy

as i said earlier, if you want a fauxhawk with your type of hair (curly) you are going to need to straighten it/blowdry it

It doesn't look like curls too me, they look like a steel brush.
Notice the comparison?

um yes, but as you said, if you let it grow.. it curls

curly hair is more coarse than straight hair

if its the texture you're worried about stick a treatment in it - but imo its because you have curly hair

Awesome so this is normal for one with curly hair. What sort of treatment could I use?
