Assignment due. help plz


for a function y = x/5 +2/x

as x becomes larger, the curve approximiates a straight line.Justify and explain ths statement?

well im not sure whether its correct or not, but first of all, ill put x/5 + 2/x as one fraction which gives you x^2+10/5x.
now when you put x as a vary large number, that 10 becomes insignificant, which leaves x^2/5x, and simplifying it gives x/5 which equates to a straight line with a slope of 1/5.

If x approaches infinity, then x/5 approaches infinity and 2/x approaches 0 hence y approaches infinity, a straight line
