Thought we could start a marathon for GM!
Answer a question then post another one, preferably questions that are very hard OR easy to make silly mistakes with.
I'll kick this off with a wordy question I stumbled on:
The earth has a radius of approximately 6400km.
-use the formula r=Rcos(theta) to find the radius of a small circle that makes a 20 degree angle with a great circle. Give you answer correct to the nearest kilometre
-X and Y are two points on the small circle above that subtend an angle of 40 degrees at the centre of the small circle. Find the length of arc XY correct to the nearest 10km
