So just got my marks back for most of my subjects except for part two of english and so far most have been decent considering I crammed in all the concepts one day between the tests.

However, one subject which completely puzzuled me was General Maths. I'm a persistent in homework and was really hardworking, recieveing around 70% in test (maths is my weaker subject) , but I JUST failed by a mark in the yearly(85% general maths people failed anyway).... I am abit worried as students who never try in class beat me in the test, and I really want to achieve a high band 4 atleast in maths for the HSC.

Any tips? what should i do to improve my maths skills?

thanks yo :)

general maffs ftw!!!

in my experience, the best way to study (improve) is to do past papers and if there's something you don't know how to do (i.e. not simply silly mistakes) then learn how to do it and do a few questions from the relevant chapter in your text book

best way to make sure you have everything covered

I think you're just working out of your maths textbook which is a good thing but you need to get used to seeing different types of questions without the theory in front of you.

If there's something that you don't understand you should ask your teacher to walk you through it.
