I think there should just be a thread simply about music.
Not about a certain band or showing off what CD's you have.

What draws you to music?
Why do you like it?
What makes a good song in your opinion?
How deeply do you connect with your music? And what strengthens or inhibits that attraction?
etc etc etc

I dunno, but you should get the drift. Why not just rant and rave simply about music and the amazing diversity of it.

this is very vague thread

I go the Conservatorium of Music and invest thousands of dollars into my music degree, I wouldn't know where to begin if i answered those questions.....

When writing music, its a form of reflecting, mirroring and reflecting a culture, and the more I think about it, the more I think people who write music have the power to create a culture. They have the power to not only express emotion, but inflict it, and take over the listener by envoking their personal thoughts... letting the music "belong" to the listener. Its like when lovers say "this is our song..." except a bit more deeper than that.

When listening to music, I like being able to be "taken over". Listen to more instrumental pieces, actual art music, and if you really concentrate and tune in to what's happening musically, its amazing what you think of...

Lyrics envoke other thoughts. It's much more direct. Though music is such a key to lyrics, it gives its "poetry" another plane of power.... I can't fully explain it.

I dunno, I'm just inspired in its power. I think music is a great invention. If my hands or ears didn't work, I think I'd die.
